Default Post Type
With ‘Select Default Post Type’ you decide which post type gets searched if the user skips the ajax panel and hits ENTER.
Choosing the first option, Search multiple post types (formerly “Do not set”), turns on the multi-post-type panel so a full-page search can return several post types at once, either as a single ranked list or in per-type sections.

Search Other Post Types through the Ajax Panel & See All
If you enable other post types in the ajax panel, you can also enable the See All button which allows users to search for more of that type of item.
