How Super Speedy Sitemaps differs from SEOPress Sitemaps

All plugins from Super Speedy Plugins share a SQL-first architecture and an uncompromising focus on performance — and Super Speedy Sitemaps is no different. Here is what sets it apart:

When a large sitemap is generated on demand, crawlers can hit a timeout instead of your URLs. Super Speedy Sitemaps splits large post sitemaps, caches generated files on disk and serves one index for search engines to follow.

SEOPress generates sitemaps as one component of a broad SEO plugin suite, using PHP and standard WordPress queries that can struggle with very large catalogues due to memory limits and generation timeouts. Super Speedy Sitemaps is a dedicated sitemap tool built solely for performance at scale, generating sitemaps via direct SQL without loading full post objects through the WordPress layer — handling enormous catalogues that would exhaust a general-purpose SEO plugin.

How to choose between SEOPress Sitemaps and Super Speedy Sitemaps?

SEOPress is a capable full SEO suite, but if sitemap generation is timing out or causing server strain on a large catalogue, a dedicated tool built for scale is the right answer. Super Speedy Sitemaps handles exactly that — SQL-first generation tested against one-million-product catalogues, with a free trial available.

1.10.1 (20th May 2026)

  • Updated the Super Speedy Settings page: added a "Recheck Licenses" button above the licence table so customers have a clear way to refresh licence status after a renewal or upgrade without scrolling down to the licence-key field. The button is disabled until a licence key is entered/saved and re-enables as you type.
  • The Recheck flow now also force-bypasses the auth-server's own 1-hour licence cache (via a `force=1` flag on the `wpiapi/check_product_key` call), so renewals/upgrades that completed less than an hour before a recheck no longer show as expired/exceeded. Normal admin page loads continue to use both caches as before — only an explicit Recheck click bypasses them. (Lives in the `super-speedy-settings` submodule, so the change propagates to every Super Speedy plugin.)
